On PCS Chromebooks and iPads, or when signed into Chrome/Youtube with their petk12.org accounts on their own devices, students have restricted access to YouTube.  Some videos that are educationally appropriate are falsely flagged as restricted.  Teachers can approve YouTube videos to ensure that they are viewable by students.  Students must be logged into their petk12.org accounts in Chrome/YouTube to access videos approved by teachers.  Note that most educational content is available on iPads without students needing to log in.

  1. Make sure that you are logged into YouTube with your petk12.org account. This can be accomplished most easily by selecting YouTube from the waffle menu after logging into Gmail or Drive.

  2. Navigate to the YouTube video that you'd like to approve or check to see if it is approved. You will see the approval status beneath YouTube videos when logged into your petk12.org account.

  3. Click on the Approve button and the status will be immediately updated, see below.

  4. Now, share the YouTube URL with your students through Google Classroom, Seesaw, or another delivery method of your choice.
